Pasifika Museum History

Pasifika Museum  stands on an area of 1.5 hectares with a building covering approximately 30 acres. The founders are two famous Indonesian art lovers, Moetaryanto P, and Philippe Augier who are French nationals but have long lived in the country.

The museum gallery was built as a place to house a variety of cultural artifacts from various countries in Asia and the Pacific region. The mission and purpose of the builder is to preserve and introduce cultural traditions, then unite them with 20th century art.

There you can find around 700 works of art in the form of paintings and approximately 400 sculptures. All the artworks are presented complete with their respective explanations. The works are the handiwork of 200 artists from 25 different countries. This is why the Pacific Museum also bears the nickname of the largest Asia Pacific Art Museum in Asia.
